Our Social Justice Initiatives
A Program For A Solution
The current state of our country is one that requires an outside the box solution which answers the bell in a culturally competent manner. We are a minority-led and founded organization. Focused on delivering culturally competent programming to communities that host METCO programs. We are lobbying for monies that would allow us to offer programs for social change in our communities that could bring communities and law enforcement together, inspire self-confidence, empowerment, academic achievement, and possible future leaders. This is our mission.
Programs Offered:
"Play For Peace" 3 0n 3 Basketball Tournament
This tournament brings community members from the 33 suburbs along with police officers into the city to join Metco students, Boston Public School students, and Boston police officers in friendly games. Connecting the communities in a way that has never been done before. Each team will have an officer, a suburb player and a Boston player. Divisions will be youth, middle school, high School, and adult. This will be a day to unite and showcase how our communities can connect.
Let's Talk Series
Let’s Talk Series, bringing communities together with local police. This program will give all participants a voice and safe zone to discuss how they feel, what they perceive and what they want to see happen. We will then work together with all parties to bring in programming to support the efforts on a whole.
Communiy & Student Athletes For Social Justice
Community and Student Athletes for Social Justice, will reconfigure the individual mindset to think more in team concepts. Moreover, our goal is to teach participants to compete as a community within the framework of a team. We seek to provide coaching, challenge, and fun in learning current and past social issues. Help students stay ahead of their school curriculum and adults stay educated on how people in communities can and need to live together. Our participants will compete year-round both socially, academically, and athletically. Our goal is to Win.
